Yellow Pea Soup
1/2 cup yellow cracked peas in 3 quarts waterSalt lightly and cook slowly several hours until the peas are in a state of puree. Chop fine two slices of salt pork, fry brown, and add to peas. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
