Clamp-On Safety Device For Extension Ladders FARM HOME Miscellaneous 27-2-16 "It works on flat surfaces, poles, or even building corners," says Richard Farmer about a new V-shaped safety device that clamps to the top rung of extension ladders.
It's equipped with spike bars that grip trees and poles. A pair of hinged, round pads, at either end keep the ladder from sliding on flat surfaces. A built-in ratcheting nylon strap or chain hold-down fastens the ladder even more securely to trees and poles.
The V-shaped jaw forms a 90-degree angle so it fits directly onto the corner of any building. The unit folds down parallel to the ladder's frame rails.for transport or storage.
Farmer says the new "LS Ascenter" is being tested marketed at Home Depot for $179. He's looking for a manufacturer.
