Pull Off Sink Trap FARM HOME Miscellaneous 11-4-31 You won't have to get out your pipe wrenches every time a ring or contact lens drops down the sink drain, or whenever the trap plugs up with hair, if you install new pull-off sink traps that lets you get into the trap by releasing two hand clamps.
Invented by Arthur Petersen, Owen, Wis., the E-Z Clean Sink Trap replaces any 1¢-in. or 1?-in. dia. sink trap. It allows free flow of water through it but a tooth-like screen restricts passage of small objects. If something gets lost down the drain, or it starts to plug up, you just clean off the screen and put it back.
"It eliminates the need for caustic drain cleaners and stops anything valuable from washing away. The trap is made from clear Lexan so you can see right into it," says Petersen, who sells the E-Z Clean Trap for $9.95 (plus $1.50 shipping).
