High-Speed Precision Planter
Minnesota farm inventor and entrepreneur Mark Bauer, who created the amazing Soil Warrior tillage machine a few years ago and then founded a booming farm equipment business, recently introduced the "Seed Warrior û a first-of-its-kind high-speed precision planting and fertilizing system.
The Seed Warrior consists of a 7,500-lb./150-bag capacity steel seed tank and a 1,250 gallon liquid fertilizer tank. You can mount any standard planter unit on the Seed Warrior toolbar. A 40-ft. toolbar can handle 16-30-in. or 24-20-in. row units. The 60-ft. bar can handle 24-30-in. or 36-20-in. row units. Toolbars lift, tilt and fold so the machine has a transport width of 16 ft., 4 in. The Seed Warrior cart is made of reinforced tubular steel and rides on rugged heavy-duty spindles and dual wheels, with either 420/90R30 or 540/65R30 tires.
Advanced steering technology is built into the Seed Warrior cart design, providing sub-inch accuracy from precision guidance for excellent control during planting. Seed is metered with a precise electric-over-hydraulic controller for pinpoint seed population and spacing accuracy. The controller is compatible with most commercial monitors and is warranted for five years. Fertilizer is delivered through a hydraulic pump, with air-controlled shutoff valves on each row unit. Uniform seeding depth in all types of conditions is achieved with active hydraulic down pressure on the toolbar and wings. On the 60-ft. bar, gauge wheels allow the wings to flex and articulate according to field contour.
