Sun Block Protects Tires
David Ferek, Osteen, Fla.: "My utility trailer sits outside unused most of the time. I noticed the sidewalls on the trailer's tires were cracking due to exposure to ultraviolet rays. Instead of spending the money for new tire covers, I bought some inexpensive sun-block SPF 30 and 50 from Walmart and started applying heavy coats of it to the tires once or twice a month. It really seems to help. I figure that if sun-block protects a person's skin from ultraviolet rays, why not tires?"
