Mower Hookup Made Easy
Faster and easier tractor hookup is promised with this new hitch kit designed for New Holland H6750 and Case IH MD 82 3-pt. mounted disc mowers.
The kit consists of 2 plates, 4 bolts, 2 pins and 2 chain brackets. The plates bolt on inside the top end of the mower’s 3-pt. frame. The shorter of the 2 pins is used where the quick-attach hitch center link on the tractor’s 3-pt. hitch connects to the mower. The pin can be positioned in one of 3 holes depending on the height of the 3-pt. hitch. The longer pin connects to the 3-pt.’s top link with a pair of chains that keep the pto shaft level at all times.
“It converts the mower’s original 3-pt. frame to a quick-attach model,” says Jim Tschetter, PJ’s Machine & Repair, Inc., Huron, S. Dak. “The problem is that the top link on the mower’s original 3-pt. frame is hard to hook up. You have to get on and off the tractor several times, trying to line up the draft holes on the top link of your 3-pt. hitch. After installing our kit, you can just back up and slowly lift the hitch until the top link catches on the bottom pin. Then you can get out of the tractor, hook up the pto and hydraulics, and you’re ready to go.”
