PVC Pipe Makes Neat Lawn, Patio Furniture
If you're looking for an inexpensive and simple way to build your own lawn or patio furniture, take a look at using PVC pipe."PVC pipe furniture is popular for a variety of reasons. The plastic material is readily available in hardware stores, building centers and plumbing supply stores. Construction is easy, requiring only a tape measure, hacksaw and, in a few cases, a drill and a screwdriver," says F. Van Huntley, spokesman for Family Workshop, Bixby, Okl., which offers do-it-yourself plans for furniture made from PVC pipe.
Each set of plans includes a list of materials needed, step by step instructions and detailed drawings. A set of 10 plans sells for for $19.95ùwhich includes a brochure of tips and techniques on working with PVC pipe, and drawings and instruction on building the following pieces: patio table and chairs; serving cart; coffee table and end table; glider chair; sling sofa; easy chair; sling chair; hammock; and chaise lounge chair. Individual plans are also available for $4.95 each.
