Seed Handler Fills Planter Fast PLANTERS Planters 19-2-23 "It lets one man fill an International 900 12-row (30-in.) planter with seed beans in about a minute," says Nevada, Iowa, farmer Bill Couser about the bucket-mounted planter filler he and his father, Dick, built about five years ago. Made out of 3/4-in. thick plywood, the rectangular seed handler mounts with six bolts in Couser's 84-in wide Deere loader bucket. It holds 50 50-lb. bags of soy-beans. Gates at each corner of the box open with a single master lever. Two 10 in. long pieces of inner tube fitted around the doors help direct the flow of the beans. A divider in the middle of the filler ensures beans empty evenly out of both sides, filling both seed hoppers on the IH planter at the same time.
