Free Hot Water
Energy conscious dairymen can save water heating expense by-capturing free heat from their milking machine pump with the new Vaccar Heat Exchanger. It's reportedly the first such unit on the market designed to work off milking machine vacuum pumps rather than milk coolers.
Cold water is circulated around a series of tubes through which hot exhaust air is passed, providing warm water for washing udders, or equipment and milkhouse clean up.
A supply tank, circulating pump, thermostat and solenoid valve are included to regulate flow and provide rapid heating of water soon after the vacuum pump is started. The Vaccar Heat Exchanger sells for approximately $320 in England.
