Suggested retail cost is $3,755 - which is considerably less than the going rate for most comparable size big-round balers. It's ground driven. "That means fewer parts, less maintenance, and more efficient and economical operation," says the manufacturer. "Ground-driven balers are also safer because they don't run when the tractor doesn't run." Pickup width of the new baler is 5 ft., 2 in., which produces an approximate 1,500 lb. bale measuring 5 by 5 ft. It wraps four twine strands around individual bales to keep them compact for storage and transport. "We use only nine belts - onethird less than in most balers now on the market," the manufacturer points out. "This means considerable savings in replacement belting over the life of the baler.
